The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Business Entrepreneurship Skills and Technology (ACCI BEST) Centre has the objective to develop the capacities of the business community through training programmes and activities. The Centre is collaborating with the GIZ implemented programme Skills Development for Youth Employment – SKYE, a programme funded by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), to organise a 3-day training on “Gender and Disability Inclusion in the Nigerian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) System”.
The training will focus on promoting an inclusive Vocational Education and Training (VET) training using the capacity development master training and materials developed and provided by the GIZ-EU VET Toolbox program.
The purpose of the training is to provide practical guidance to VET teachers, private sector actors, NGO’s and TVET administrators on how to teach inclusively.
The Director of the Centre, Mrs Tinuke Temitope stated that key stakeholders in the TVET sector have been strictly and carefully selected to participate in the program.
She also noted that most of the expected participants were drawn from vocational training, gender and special needs department of relevant government agencies and ministries, NGOs, and technical colleges.
The first batch of the 3-days training with 20 participants is expected to start on Tuesday 17th November 2020, while the second batch will come up from 23rd of November 2020.
