ACCI BEST Centre attends UNIDO capacity development program stakeholder’s program

The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) organized a stakeholder’s meeting to discuss the status of implementation of its Entrepreneurship Project on job creation through the Entrepreneurship Training Programme “Learning Initiative  For Entrepreneurs” (HP LIFE) and Enterprise Creation.

Over 10,000 trainees have undergone the HP LIFE training in Nigeria, with 151 certified trainers drawn from various government and private sector organizations.

There are 34 HP LIFE training centers in 22 states in Nigeria.

The event which took place in Abuja was attended by representatives of stakeholders from various organizations including; UNIDO, Hewlett Packard, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Entrepreneurship Technology (ACCI BEST) Centre, Bank of Industry (BoI) and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Others include Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Cally Cussons, Nigeria University Commission (NUC), National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Cherish Foundation as well as State Governments.

The intervention empowers young men and women with practical entrepreneurship, business and IT skills, coaches them in their start-up and growth phase, fosters the creation of small enterprise and tackle youth unemployment.

The most promising business projects are selected and provided with direct business coaching and assistance to help aspiring entrepreneurs to turn their projects into viable ventures.

The scheme will also strengthen the capacity of the business support institutions and educational institutions in the field of entrepreneurship to enable access to customized qualitative entrepreneurship training
